In summary, I would recommend Adam Pushkas as outstanding to anyone who wants to improve the energy efficiency of their home. Some particular qualities for which I will remember Adam are his passion for energy efficiency, knowledge of the current leading thoughts in the field, and overall affability that makes him such a pleasure with which to work.I had the opportunity to work with Adam Pushkas and Coho Construction Company Fall 2009 to Spring 2010. Adam and his crew were always professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I remember the thoughtful and detailed initial meeting where Adam helped us map out our goals of improving the insulation of our house and decreasing our energy costs. The testing of the baseline use of energy, including the blower door test, was great to see the objective numbers before we started. We ended up doing much work in the attic with re‐laying of insulation and some blow‐in insulation, as well as re‐installing many can lights. Adam also helped us change two small storage spaces into secret hiding spaces/ playrooms for our two children. In addition, with Adam’s help, we discovered the insulation to our basement had much airspace between the floor and insulation, so was not effective at all. The very throughout re‐installation and then proper layering and sealing of the insulation in the basement has drastically improved the heating in this area of our house. We have had several guests comment, who also visited before the insulation work, on how much warmer it is in the basement. Adam and his crew were always prompt and easy to work with and all work was done on time. The final home performance evaluation with the repeat blower door test was a great way to end as it contained all the before and after numbers with the significant improvements in the numbers. In addition, Adam completed all paperwork necessary for us to submit to the Energy Trust of Oregon so that we could receive any appropriate rebates. Adam and Coho Construction made the entire process of improving our home insulation easy and pleasant. This is the first winter after these improvements were made, and we are spending hundreds of dollars less on energy costs.
